Derin McMains is a mental performance coach with more than a decade of experience working with elite athletes, teams, and business leaders operating in high-pressure environments. A former professional baseball player and manager, Derin began his work in mental performance in 2012 and brings deep, applied experience across professional sport and enterprise organizations.

Over the past 13 years, Derin has built and led mental performance programs for the San Francisco Giants, Seattle Mariners, and the University of Notre Dame. A three-time World Series Champion with the Giants, he continues his work in professional baseball as a mental performance consultant with the Arizona Diamondbacks. The current season marks his 25th year in professional baseball. In addition to Major League Baseball, Derin consults with professional athletes across the NFL, Major League Soccer, and professional tennis.

Beyond sport, Derin works with high-performing professionals across music, publishing, law, entrepreneurship, and executive leadership, including New York Times best-selling authors, founders, and C-suite executives. His work focuses on helping individuals and teams perform consistently, make effective decisions under pressure, and sustain performance over time.

In 2021, Derin was appointed Director of Mental Performance at ReliaQuest, a global cybersecurity company headquartered in Tampa, Florida. In this role, he leads a team of mental performance coaches supporting employees across six operating centers in four countries, applying performance psychology principles within a complex, global business environment.
