Mental Performance Coach

Dr. Aimee Kimball is a peak performance consultant who has spent more than 20 years helping leaders, teams, and organizations build and sustain high-performance cultures. With 18 seasons in the NHL working alongside coaches and management, she has seen firsthand that consistent success is never accidental , it is the result of a clear plan, disciplined execution, and a resilient mindset. She partners with clients to create a blueprint for success and develop the mental edge required to reach and sustain their potential.

Dr. Kimball spent a decade with the Pittsburgh Penguins, serving as Mental Skills Coach during their 2009 and 2016 Stanley Cup championships. She later joined the New Jersey Devils as Director of Player and Team Development, where she was recruited to help rebuild the franchise and redefine its culture. Most recently, she served as Senior Director of Team and Organizational Development for the Washington Capitals, where she evaluated organizational processes, provided leadership and mental skills support, and enhanced player development systems. During this time, she also worked with the Capitals’ AHL affiliate, the Hershey Bears, contributing to two Calder Cup championships in three seasons.

Her experience in elite sport extends beyond the NHL. Dr. Kimball has assisted the Pittsburgh Steelers and Philadelphia 76ers in evaluating potential draft picks and served as Mental Performance Coach for the silver medal- winning U.S. Women’s National Hockey Team at the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing.

In addition to her work in professional sports, Dr. Kimball advises corporate leaders and organizations seeking to strengthen culture, navigate mergers and transitions, and execute strategic goals. She has worked with clients across industries including pharmaceuticals, investment banking, construction, law, trading, and YPO. She also brings personal insight into the unique dynamics and challenges of family businesses.

Prior to entering private practice, Dr. Kimball spent nine years as Director of Mental Training at the UPMC Center for Sports Medicine. She holds an Executive MBA and a Master’s degree in Sports Behavior and Performance from Miami University, a PhD in Sport Psychology from the University of Tennessee, and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from The Pennsylvania State University. Her work focuses on helping individuals enhance performance, balance professional and personal demands, and cultivate the competitive advantage necessary for long-term success.
